FWIW, had a bubble in my Ritchie compass in 2002, twenty years ago and a local
guy (in NJ) who works on those, cleaned it, topped off the fluid and replaced
the seal for $75. Still good, no bubble.
I would google "Ritchie repair near me" or "compass repair near me" to see if
someone may be
Hey Shawn,
I just got mine back on Friday from Richie, it looks awesome.
Send Pat an email, include a few images and he'll get back to you and let
you know if it's repairable. Mine cost 350 USD. It was a 5” Globemaster.
Cost included return shipping. pdemp...@ritchienavigation.com

I missed see who did the repair but I got great service and spare parts from
Viking Compass.
I had Calypso’s main steering compass base repaired and rechromed. Viking
updated the compensation magnets making the original base like new. (I
considered the cost a good value but it wasn’t cheap.)
How much did they charge? Mine has been sitting in a box for a few years
due to a cracked dome and slow leak.
