Hi Richard,

Why not get 1/2 dozen, or so, regular sail slugs that fir the largeropening and
have them sewn to the Doyle cover? It's not like you need acontinuos bolt rope
to do the intend job (of holding the bottom of thecover to the boom).

Re: Stus-List Boom insert

2018-08-10 Thread Dennis C. via CnC-List
Richard,

That might be a challenge. You might start by searching the list
archives. There have been a few mentions of spar manufacturers. I suspect
that the key will be the build date of your boat. That is, C may have
used a single spar supplier in the mid 80's. Perhaps other owners of mid
80's C will respond.

I know that Touche's mast is a Klacko. I sent a picture of a cross section
of it with measurements to a couple spar manufacturers. Fortunately, a
representative of Klacko responded positively. Doesn't do much for me
since they no longer make that extrusion.

I seem to recall a few owners stating their spars were made by Offshore.

A long shot is to call Rig Rite. They know a lot about extrusions but
getting to talk to them is always a crapshoot.
