Barb Hughes of Steamboat Springs has had Common Redpolls visiting
her thistle feeder since January 24. She had 2 females on 1/24,
a male and female on 1/26, and the same pair on 1/27. Tom
Litteral saw Redpolls at her feeder on 1/26.

Today (1/27) at about 11:15 a.m., a Northern Pygmy-Owl was in crotch of a young
cottonwood, on north side of Colo. Hwy 112, a couple of miles east of County
Line Rd. (Alamosa/Rio Grande County). It was not there on my return trip at
about 1:30 p.m. Also along CO Hwy 112, I saw 3 Bald Eagles

workshop at Zapata Ranch , San Luis Valley , to be held March 7-11 , just in
advance of the Monte Vista Crane Festival , March 12-14. Zapata Ranch is a

The Pine Warbler first found on 18 January was quite easy to see this morning
(27 January) in Pueblo City Park. I was there, along with Mymm Ackley for a
couple of hours from 10am to noon or so, and bird was there for most of that
