Northern Pygmy Owl across the river from my cabin, 42 miles up the
Poudre Canyon at 8,000 feet amsl. It's the first I have heard there in
eleven years. I am confident the canyon will continue to reveal it's

to our yard in SW Lakewood/Green-Mtn.

Just a few minutes ago I found a tail dipping Gray Flycatcher below the CU
stadium. The bird was working the hillside just west of the stadium. Also many
Yellow-rumped Warblers of both species. Good birding.

Just got out of the chilly breeze this morning.
A stop at RRTP yielded a good list of species, including the Curve-billed
Thrasher (twice) and White-throated Sparrow. A couple birding said they
had had the Harris's Sparrow as well, but I failed to relocate it after my

We arrived to a winter wonderland this morning - sunshine, a crystal clear blue
sky, and SNOW (29 degrees). We spent close to 2 hours getting the nets
defrosted and open. Between the Nature Center and the banding station, we
caught 8 new birds (plus a few others that we had

Fountain Creek Regional Park (El Paso County) was a bit on the quiet side
today. My husband and I birded the nature center area along with warbler alley
and rice's pond. Yellow-rumped Warblers were abundant with Blue-gray

bird) at Crystal Lakes along with several Long-billed Dowitchers and a
