Hi, Cobirders.
We have a new yard bird today in the Old Farm subdivision of the Springs - A
pair of Evening Grosbeaks. While we always have a pair of Black-headed
Grosbeaks pass through in mid-May, this is the first time Evening Grosbeaks
have stopped by.
We also have a Mountain

Hi COBirders,
We've had 2 pair of Evening Grosbeaks the past couple days in our yard in
Mountain Shadows, NW Colorado Springs. We've not had these before in spring,
just rarely in winter. They were at times hangin' with a pair of Black-headed
Grosbeaks.
Also banded in the backyard
Birders,
I found a female Bay-breasted Warbler this morning (5/16) in Van's Grove
in Bent County. This is one of the rarest migrant warblers in Colorado,
in my opinion. My previous two sightings of the species were in the
1980's, one in the summer of 1984 at Wild Basin in Rocky Mountain

Since last week, I've been getting a male Lazuli Bunting come to my backyard
feeder, and yesterday, I got an additional male and a female! I've also gotten
a visit from a Western Tanager, and a Black-headed Grosbeak and Virginia's

The poorwill call was a fitting end to the class and evening.
