floating around on the north side of Echo Lake which is on the way up Mount
Evans, in Clear Creek Co. This sighting may reflect an eastward extension of
its normal breeding range. I was able to obtain some grainy
Things were quiet today, except for two avocets and a juvenile snowy egret.
Among the pelicans and ring-bills was an adult gull I couldn't identify. It

(an area bounded by Colfax, Monaco, Alameda and Colorado) steadily
since some time this spring. I'm sure there are multiple pairs
breeding in the area.
Last night I had about five in my backyard.
Good birding,

I hung out at Lake Loveland hoping to refind the possible Mew Gull. The flock
of 75 gulls on the mud in the northwest lagoon never fully materialized -
roughly 45 gulls showed up tonight - all Ring-billed Gulls . Again they took
off about 8 pm towards a communal roost and this time I followed
Yesterday morning I heard once then saw one distant Black Phoebe on the
other side of the Arkansas River from the Canon City Riverwalk. I could
not refind today. Looks like the Black Phoebe family is engaged in
post-breeding dispersal.
On my way back from a meeting in Pueblo yesterday I
