This morning, Daren Obrien did not see the Red Phalarope. After Joe Roller's
report, I decided to enjoy the beautiful afternoon and join him for a second
attempt. We got great views of the Red Phalarope on the east and west side.
We also enjoyed the stunning White-faced Ibis. While watchin
The Red Palarope still remained at 4:30 tonight, though was at the furthest
edge of the water away from the road, so a scope was needed. Ibis and
Avocet were also there, as well as a few ducks (including some late
Blue-Winged Teal). The number of raptors cruising by was cool too -

Nice photos, Derek. If this pale-bellied brant is an "Atlantic Brant", could
this oddball large Canada Goose be an "Atlantic Canada Goose"? I suspect there
are no previous records. There is certainly something odd about this bird, and
it doesn't seem to be interested in hanging out with the loca
Thanks for the heads-up on this. I was out there early this morning and saw
it, along with the Cattle Egret. No pics of the Jaeger, but the Egret was a
cooperative model!

Friday afternoon I set out for some Saturday birding in the Pueblo area with
