At 2 pm Nov. 26 there were 74 Bonaparte's gulls and over 90 ring-billed gulls
resting separately at Terry Lake near the road. Also an adult bald eagle
sitting in a tree nearby, 3 species of grebes(Western, pied-billed, and 2
eared), bufflehead, common goldeneyes, and mallards,plus one
This morning at 8:45 I saw a female Long-tailed Duck on Terry Lake in
Longmont, Boulder County. I could not find the Barrow's Goldeneye reported
earlier, but it certainly could be there. Hundreds of Ring-billed Gulls,
along with many Bonaparte's and some Herring Gulls are near the west shore
Pueblo Reservoir (with Nick Moore):
Red-necked Grebe - 1 off Sailboard launching area
Pacific Loon - 1 off Sailboard launching area
Common Loon - 2 off Sailboard launching area
Great Black-backed Gull - 1 adult at South Shore Marina tires
Lesser Black-backed Gull - 1 adult at South Shore Marina
Seen by many early this afternoon in Centennial Park (see previous postings for
location).
Most frequently seen today in the buckthorn tree near the large fallen logs
next to the oxbow and along the tiny stream to the north.

Sorry about this long version but.
On 1 November an unidentified hummingbird, nicknamed Friday because of the
day of the week on which it was found, was seen in a gated estate in
Colorado Springs. The finders of the hummingbird put up a sugar water feeder
and wrote to Aiken
Today Sean Walters and I birded various spots in Larimer and Weld Counties. On
the n side of L Loveland there were 4 Common Redpolls atop a spruce. At Fossil
Crk Reservoir there was femal Black Scoter and a LT Duck. At Timnath Reservoir
there was a LT Duck and a male Barrows Goldeneye. At Woods
Among the hundreds of Cackling and Canada Geese on the Ft Logan ponds this
morning was a single Ross' Goose.
It was on the western pond. A few diving ducks were present, including one
Lesser Scaup.
Up to three Snow Geese have been present on the ponds this past week, but they
were nowhere to

I visited the Larimer County landfill this afternoon expecting to find the
mother load of gulls, but was disappointed. There was a decent flock of 500 or
so, with a couple of adult Lesser Black-backed and good numbers of Herring and
California accompanying the throng of Ring-billed Gulls. I
Along with the Prothonotary Warbler, at noon today, there were 14 Snow Geese at
Centennial Park. These left the park around 12:30pm. Many of the Snow and
Ross's Geese which visit Centennial Park, visit Fort Logan Cemetery, and vice
versa [along with other Canada and Cackling Geese].
