Hi all,
Yesterday we stopped by Lake Loveland to look at the gulls. there was a
nice assortment including at least three Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 1
full adult beautiful Glaucous Gull and what I believe to be a first
cycle Great Black Backed Gull. There were also Herring Gulls,
Ring-billed
At about 9:00 am today the Gray-bellied Brant was with a large group of Canada
Geese across the road from the westernmost campground.

Hi all,
I have at least three and up to five Harris's Sparrows coming to my feeding
areas. It is hard to tell unless they are all eating together (last week,
I did count five together).

I apologize for my incomplete directions of where I saw the Winter Wren.
It was east of shields and was very skittish. I did not hear it vocalize.

Hi,
An Evening Grosbeak flew east over Lions Park in Laporte this morning. A
imm. dark morph Rough-legged Hawk was soaring high over the Colorado State
University campus this afternoon. I've seen light morphs in other areas of
Northern Colorado recently.

Yesterday I found my first American Dipper in the Canon City area for this
season, this one several miles east of town. Every winter we have from one
to a few American Dippers that move downstream along the Arkansas River in
Colorado in cold weather to spend the winter in the mild Canon City
On Friday, Lake Loveland's afternoon gull flock was large (300 birds, 90%
Ring-billed) and had a variety of species, but the reported adult Glaucous and
possible immature Great Black-backed from Thursday were no-shows. Singleton
adult Lesser Black-backed and California were the only darker
