I didn't see the Hepatic Tanager when I birded in Lamar Woods this morning
and 2 local birders I ran into who had started before did not report that
bird either. Discussion was that few migrants there today with likelihood
that many moved on last night as winds had diminished (overnight only as
North side of Union Reservoir - 18 of the big beauties seen, trying to stay
sheltered under the bank while feeding. At least two groups, and there were
probably more that I couldn't see.
Also, the Yellow-headed BBs are back at Union Res, finally.

Rutherford reports that the Black-throated Gray warbler is still at Crow
Valley as well. It would be remiss to not thank Ira Sanders for leaving
the state and making these fine birds possible. And, a big thank you once

Two Glossy Ibis were foraging amongst the cattails on the north end of
Deadman Lake yesterday evening. They were near the Canada goose nest (with
goose sitting on the nest).
They were joined by 3 Western grebes, 2 Great Blue Herons, a Great Egret

saw. 115 species of birds. 7 species of warblers and 15 species of shorebirds.

Gadwall x Mallard hybrid - 1
Van's Grove:
Swainson's Thrush - 1
This morning re-found the Painted Redstart and found a Black-throated Blue
Warbler across the creek from the Picnic Shelter, yes I got my feet wet but
a great bird to see.
also a Brown Thrasher in the grove in the south eastern corner, Eastern
Screech Owl yelled at me from the Big Cottonwood

On our way down to SE CO , we spent a couple of hours at Chico ,
highlights Black-throated Gray Warbler at HQ willows and a western Palm Warbler
at Rose Pond ( both Pueblo County ) .
Lake Cheraw : Snowy Plovers , Marbled Godwit , Least Sandpipers , Avocet ,
Black-necked
