This-past week I saw an immature Little Blue Heron on the Auto Tour Loop at the
Alamosa National Wildlife Refuge. The bird is white, and has a prominent blue
base to the bill. It was not re-seen yesterday but should be watched for in
this area.
I lead a bird trip yesterday to Alamosa
Some CFO field trips have found a Bairds Sparrow.
Will try and get details soon.

Mark Peterson's group found one Baird's Sparrow along with some Grasshopper
Sparrows and such on rd 93, just north if the intersection of Rd 40. This is
south of I-76 from exit 155.

Sorry. For clarification the Baird's Sparrows I saw this morning were the ones
previously reported in El Paso County.

Yesterday (Aug 30), I went to W Lake St in Fort Collins to get some
photographs of a Calliope Hummingbird first reported by N Komar that has
been around for the last week. There were several Hummers zipping around
and feeding off a healthy clump of pinkish orange Agastache flowers. While

I spent 5 or so hours wandering around the Hale Ponds area. Like most of NE
Colorado, migrant passerines were few. I don't know what happened to our Yellow
Warbler passage, that should have peaked a week ago, nor our Wilson's Warbler
passage, which should be in full force right
This morning, I was able to find 3 Baird's Sparrows along Drennan Rd west of
Hemmingway. Many birders I came across had seen several Baird's in their
searches. I'm guessing there are more than 4-5 Baird's Sparrow in the area.

On today's Denver Field Ornithologists to Prewitt Reservoir we found a fall
male Blackburnian Warbler below the dam in the Black Locust grove. This
grove is to the west of the Logan County parking lot below the dam ( Open
Goggle Maps and copy/paste the following into the search box: 40.435750,
