I just found a common merganser in the middle of the road on Martin Drive in
Martin acres. If I did not need to be in a classroom in 20 minutes I would be

still here. On cr 13 s of cr 56. Best viewing at dam on east side of res.

On Friday,
I went up to Annex #8 Reservoir today, which is just north of the Fort Collins
Country Club in the southwest corner of the intersection of CRs 13 and 56.
Andy Bankert reported a sleeping, unidentified loon on Windsor #8 (res across
56 from Annex #8 day before yesterday) and a Pacific Loon from
Susan Pellegrini and I found a female Rusty Blackbird this morning at Chatfield
Reservoir, along the shore at the Massey Draw area. There were also 1-2 Common
Loons farther south in the reservoir, and small numbers of a variety of ducks
and grebes, otherwise not particularly birdy. At Aurora
The DFO RMBO's Annual Barrow's Goldeneye Count on Nov 23 led by Paul
Slingsby has been cancelled due to the expected storm.

The female Long-tailed Duck is still at Douglas Res., in northern Larimer Co.
First seen by David Wade, then by Rachel Hopper, followed by Dave Leatherman.
Seen in the north-east section of reservoir. Look for a small duck, smaller
then a female Goldeneye, with a whitish head. I didn't see

photographed in Saratoga, Wyoming this morning. The state's 3rd record!
Colorado birders should be on the lookout, they come to feeders sometimes.

Saturday, Dec 13: Roaring Fork River Valley (this won't be an official National
Audubon CBC this year, since it won't be held during the official dates of
Dec14-Jan 5).
Sunday, Dec 14: Aspen, Boulder, Delta, Durango, Eagle Valley,
I went over to the South Shore Marina tires at Pueblo Reservoir mid-afternoon
today, to see if there were any different gulls around. Late in the afternoon
is always when there are more gulls around, then other times of the day at
Pueblo Reservoir.
