Yesterday while driving in a canyon area in Fremont County I spotted 4
large raptors and subsequently identified 2 as adult Golden Eagles and 1 as
a juvenile Golden Eagle. I did not find a place to pull over quick enough

I went to Aurora Rampart Reservoir late today[3:30pm], to get another Scoter
fix. Yes, the 3, Black scoters were present. These Scoters were eating Crayfish
also, but not as fast as the Scoters in Prospect Park were eating them. I did
not see the Pacific Loon until it appeared around
COBirds,
Within days of the Longmont Purple Finch report, south Texas reports a
Cassin's Finch, far out of range, where Purple Finch would be more expected
but still a fairly rare bird. I guess these finches may be trickier than I
thought. Maybe TEXBIRDS and COBirds can share opinions.

Among a large flock of Canada Geese at Harriman today at noon (far east
end) are 3 odd geese: one appeared to be a Snow Goose morph, but with a
dark bill and greyish legs. The other two with yellow/orange bill &
legs...possibly domestic, but maybe Greater White-fronted? Would

Hi Everyone-
I birded McIntosh Lake in Longmont around noon today. The Long-tailed Duck
that Waltman reported was still present, in the middle of the lake with
mergansers and goldeneyes (the common of each). Gulls were also present,
including Bonaparte's (2), Ring-billed (maybe 200), California
Aurora Rampart still has the three Black Scoter and a Pacific Loon as well
as one or two Greater Scaup (females). Platte Canyon Reservoir had ~55
Hooded Merganser, one male Barrow's Goldeneye (among the Common) and TWO
Greater Yellowlegs!
Beautiful morning...so much for the forecasted winds.
trifecta on scooters all three are still on the lake.along with lots of
mergansers, ducks , and geese.

Hello everyone,
Sorry for the late post. Yesterday Glenn Walbek Gene Rutherford and I saw the
Grand Junction Costa's Hummingbird. Amazing to see any hummer on 22 November!
On the way back to Denver we stopped at Rifle Gap SP and saw the 3 Black
Scoters and Long-tailed Duck reported previously.
