Along with all of the Canada and Cackling Geese at Siena Reservoir in
Broomfield, there were three male Common Goldenyes, a M/F pair of
Ring-necked Ducks, a bunch of American Coot - and one Sandhill Crane. I
managed to snap off a few shots in the dim morning light as it flew off
towards the
Four of us birded the Jerry Creek Reservoir SWA on Jan. 1 as part of the
Mesa CBC. While walking in to the reservoirs we saw a flock of 20+
Chukars. The Tundra Swan (probably the same on we saw in Nov. at the nearby
small pond off Hwy 330) was in a small patch of open water on the small
lake.
Birders,
While standing outside with some birders watching the Rosy-Finches, several
Chihuahuan Ravens flew by.
I made the call based on call, size and tail shape.
Also here is a Hairy Woodpecker. Fairly unusual for the neighborhood.

Around 1:30 this afternoon a flock of 9 Pine Grosbeaks spent several minutes at
the top of a very tall cottonwood across the street from my house. I had 3

short eared owl made an appearance as I was driving out as it flew in front of
