The adult Royal Tern that spent 20 minutes on Plover Island on the north
shore of John Martin Reservoir (Bent County) on July 10th returned today
after an eight day absence. This time it was far more cooperative.

I spent July 16 and 17 on the Pawnee National Grassland. I did two
non-overlapping loops in the western section, for a total of 132 miles. The
following are some two-day totals: Lark Bunting-about 2500; Horned Lark-about
700; Grasshopper Sparrow-91; McCown's Longspur-55;

Our first stop in Logan County was along US 138 west of Crook where we had
about 15 Upland Sandpipers and a couple of Dickcissels. At Tamarack Pond we

Exploring rural portions of Denver County (i.e., the farmland area surrounding
DIA) today, Judy Henderson, Jeff Dawson and I were fortunate enough to find an
Ash-throated Flycatcher on Gun Club Road, where it crosses Third Creek,

Birding with two out of state birders , Gail and Mary Carns , we came
upon driving along Hanover around 7:30 am , guess what a Greater Roadrunner
running along the road . What a surprise . Location about 1 mile west of
Degrott Road intersection , near the bridge and
