Birders,
I spent the afternoon running around Morgan County checking out the playas
that Bill talked about. My biggest surprise was 4 species of grebe. The
Western was in a shallow fluddle on the north side of MCR II between MCR 23
and 26. The basic plumage Horned. alternate plumage Eared (2)

We had a storm pass through this afternoon and into the early evening. I had
to go out to do some other stuff so decided to see if the storm had put
anything down at Big Johnson Reservoir. I was thinking maybe a Sabine's Gull

Migrations has ground almost to a halt in the willows at Clear Spring Ranch.
Very few migrants seen, very few birds banded. I’ve been watching for birds
crossing the moon this week - and haven’t seen any there either!
BUT, among the three birds banded today was an adult,
I found all three birds today on the north side of the trail at McIntosh
Reservoir, Boulder Co., this afternoon. I'm starting to wonder if these are
residents, so it'll be interesting to see if they stick around or not.
If anyone still wants to see these birds, please let me know. Here is my

Early this morning 2 *Black Swifts* appeared flying south under lowering
gray skies with light rain beginning as I was birding in Ken Caryl Valley
north of Massey Draw between the Lyons and Dakota formation hogbacks. They
paused in their trajectory a bit to join some foraging *White-throated
Jeannie Mitchell and I birded Ramah SWA yesterday (Sunday).The number of
shorebirds has diminished but the songbirds are arriving.

Pied-billed Grebe, Western Grebe, Eared Grebe
