This morning a Brown Creeper paid a brief visit to my little townhouse
yard near Holly & Arapahoe in west Centennial. It first landed on a
silver maple, then flew around but did not land on a small grove of aspens,
then
worked the trunk of a long-needled pine

I just had a female-type Purple Finch appear at my feeders in Las Animas
(Bent County). It joins the male Red-bellied Woodpecker, Curve-billed
Thrasher and up to three Canyon Towhees that have been regulars in my
yard for the past several weeks.

I found this discussion very interesting. I wonder which, if any, of the three
known drivers of autumn song presented in the SciLogs piece apply to Marsh
Wrens? Since the great majority of Marsh Wrens are migrants, it doesn't seem
like the answer would be early selection of next
