My friend (Dan Horton) and I visited Crow Valley on Monday to see if we
could find migrants that are coming through. We did in fact find some
birds, but also realized we have don't know what they are. We were able to
narrow it down a little bit, but definitely need some help with a

banded at a relaxed but constant pace all morning. 35 new birds, and a
whopping 25 recaptures - lots of young Wilson's that have not put on enough

Hi COBirders,
All warblers and sparrows banded today at Clear Spring Ranch. Orange-crowned,
Wilson’s, Yellow, and Com Yellowthroat warblers, Lark, Song, Savannah,
Clay-colored, and Chipping Sparrows. Quite a mix! 45 new birds today. (alas,
no new NOWAs!).

Yesterday ...
Hiked Poudre River Trail between Island Grove Park and 35th Avenue.
- 47 species
- Highlights:
- Cooper's Hawk, flew right up to fence for me on way into Island Grove
- Warbling Vireo - 2
- Osprey - 2
- Greater Yellowlegs, Baird's Sandpiper
- Bullock's
Franklin's Gulls retain most of their hoods in non-breeding plumage. There have
been thousands in the area.
