A perfectly lovely first day at Chatfield. First bird of the season was a
Song Sparrow, banded last year. First migrant was a Wilson's Warbler.
Morning started cold but warmed up fast. Caught 20 birds of 10 species,
including 4 banded in prior years:
Black-capped Chickadee 1
House Wren 1
An adult *Broad-winged Hawk *was making its way north over the vicinity of
St. Mary Church at South Prince Street this afternoon. And a *Western
Tanager *gave its rolling, rapid pit-er-dik several times from yards
adjacent to the church property, but I never saw it.

This morning at Sondermann, Patricia Henschen and I spotted a *Nashville
Warbler *(seen since yesterday)*, Wilson's Warbler, Orange-crowned Warbler,
Yellow-rumped Warbler*, and one unidentifiable warbler. These flew between
the cottonwoods, lilacs and crabapples just after the
