[cobirds] Birding the Front Range tomorrow

2018-01-14 Thread Gary Brower
Good evening, all, With tomorrow being a holiday, my guess is that there will be numerous birders our looking for some of our current Front Range “finds”. I know my wife and I will be doing so. The weather forecast, however, for tomorrow isn’t as “pleasant” as today (snow showers starting in

[cobirds] Pueblo Reservoir Snowy Owl 1/14 afternoon update

2018-01-14 Thread Brandon
Lots of people have been enjoying the scope views of the Pueblo Reservoir Snowy Owl all day today. There has been a traffic jam at the Quail Run Picnic Area parking lot, off and on all day. I haven't been there all day, though, every time I come by there, there are lots of people, thrilled to

Am thinking about making the 200 mile drive up tomorrow (Monday) to see this bird if it is still around. If anyone has details about where it is known to hang out, I would appreciate any information you could lend. Street addresses? Park? etc. Thank you. John Rawinski Monte Vista, CO On

Hi Scott and all, About eBird lists and county lines, I'm pretty sure that you are supposed to submit the checklist reflecting where YOU were birding from, NOT where the bird was. So if you were standing in JeffCo, you are supposed to submit the bird under a checklist from JeffCo, at least if

I birded the North Marina area of Pueblo Reservoir yesterday morning. The possible highlight was what I am fairly certain was a juvenile Broad-Winged Hawk; it was briefly glimpsed flying straight away and I did not get a photograph. A small, greyish buteo, light-colored beneath the tail.
