This past weekend my brother and I birded the Summit/Grand County
reservoirs with mixed success. Below is a summary of each destination and
its highlights, in case anyone is interested in making a similar trip:
*Dillon Reservoir:* Relatively devoid of waterfowl, although there were
The Bohemian Waxwing was continuing at the Hudson Gardens with around 25
Cedar Waxwings. Me and a few others saw them at the north side of the
parking lot near the Inn at Hudson Gardens, east of the Welcome Center.

The cold front has brought in new birds in our yard this morning. Fun to
get a White-throated Sparrow from the deck. Yard Bird! Also, FOS, American
Tree Sparrow and Slate-colored Junco.

Hi all
I did the complete raptor Alley tour and saw all of the expected species. A
total of 41 raptors seen. Misses include Great Horned Owl (infrequent) and
accipiters (rare).

- Red-tailed Hawk - 11
- Prairie Falcon - 1
- Merlin - 1
