Fellow Birders,
This Friday afternoon at *Lollipop Lake* in *Garland Park, Denver* (S Holly
St at Cherry Creek N Drive) I saw the following among the 400+ Cackling
Geese and 50+ Canada geese:
*Greater Yellowlegs* - present for last few days. Actively feeding much of
day.
*Snow Goose* -
The grebe resembled the winter immature shown in the eastern Peterson field
guide (not the adult).

Subject: Probable Red-necked Grebe - Walker
Urling and I just spent a half hour looking at a probable Red-necked Grebe, at
the far north side of the Walker gravel pit near Franktown.
It had the shape of an RNGR, with a particularly noticeable long, pointed,
dagger-like, yellow to yellow-orange bill. Size of a goldeneye but slimmer.
Several people have asked, so I will respond here. FCAS is not recording
our programs at this time. The Board of Directors considered this question
when we started using Zoom and decided against it. First, some of our
speakers prefer NOT to be recorded. But second, we are trying as best we
can

Does anyone know if there's a particular reason why Lower Derby is drained
at the Arsenal? Aside from the obvious lack of water, but the other lakes
look reasonable...and crowded!

I think that the reference to being opposite ACC means on the other side of
Santa Fe. I think the cascades would be the little dry creek at the south
end of Hudson Gardens (which is actually in Arapahoe County).

On Friday,
I'm confused. ACC is north of Hudson Gardens. Not at the south end.

My subject said "CO National Parks"--it is for all National Parks, Refuge,
Monuments, etc. properties.

I was wondering if it was an option on the CO license. Thanks.

Just found this ... four methods of ID:
-
Department of Defense Identification Card (CAC Card)
-
Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC)
-
Veteran ID Card
-
Veterans designation on a state-issued U.S. driver’s license or
identification card
I applied for the VIC the other day pretty easily as well. I have the
veteran notation on the CO drivers license, but wanted the VIC just to be
safe!

As I understand the guidelines you will need to apply for a Veteran ID Card
or some other form of id the shows your status to show at the park.
It is a quick process to apply for the VIC, I did it on my phone the other
night.
The free entrance also applies to Gold Star families.
