Like Colin, we had a few more birds and several FOS today. What is
interesting to me is the number of one-of-a-kinds:
Black-capped Chickadee 1
House Wren 1, banded 2019
Gray Catbird 1 (FOS)
Orange-crowned Warbler 1 (FOS)
Virginia's Warbler 1
Yellow Warbler 1, male banded 2016 and recaught in
All,
For the last 24 hours approximately, a GORGEOUS adult male Kentucky Warbler
has been hanging out in a small irrigation ditch just north (30-75 yards)
of the Mountain Avenue and North Bryan Avenue intersection. The ditch runs
parallel to North Bryan on it's west side. This bird was found
Another day that was slow in terms of numbers, but we did have a few
colorful firsts of the year to brighten things up, including a Black-headed
Grosbeak, Brown Thrasher and gorgeous male Western Tanager. Our only
recapture was an American Robin first banded in 2018 and caught every year
Birders,
I'll lead a short morning outing to places in the Deer Creek watershed in
JeffCo on Saturday May 15, from 6:30 am to about 9:30 or 10:00 am. We will
seek a cross section of returning migrants, including Ovenbird, and focus
on bird song and other sounds. Easy walking on roads.

I wished we could have stayed longer but commitments, work, and
responsibilities required our return. The weather also was not helpful,
giving us ONLY a good 1/2 day of birding. Still would like to see the 22
warbler weekends of past.

Also a Yellow Warbler but otherwise not even a Yellow-rumped; boy, I wish we

Hello birders,

seemed to be moving between the partially leafed
There have been numerous enquiries regarding Park Access, you need to be

If anyone registers a team today for the birding challenge tomorrow, I will
make a small pledge for your team if you let me know.
