Slower and hotter. Really looking forward to a break in this weather!
Closed all nets a bit early today because it was so steamy.
We banded only 18 birds and caught 2 House Wrens banded last year:
House Wren 2 new, 2 banded 2021
Gray Catbird 1
Orange-crowned Warbler 1
Yellow Warbler 1
Ben Sampson and I found a Little Gull on the Sedgwick County side of Jumbo
Res.(40.9370118, -102.6343488)
We also found a Buff-breasted Sandpiper in the same spot. The
Red-shouldered Hawk Continues on the Logan side between Little Jumbo and
Jumbo.

Well, I am the first to admit that I am not that familiar with songbird
migration in the West. This is my first year banding in the west. I have
visited western states birding maybe a dozen times. Otherwise I have
several decades of experience in the midwest and south conducting passerine
Several birders observed the juvenile Little Gull along the north shore of
Jumbo Reservoir this morning . Also up to 5 Buff-breasted Sandpipers were
tallied at the east campground.
