While returning from a funeral in SE Kansas, just before dark yesterday I
saw at least four large owls (probable Short-eared) and several Ferruginous
Hawks flying lo over the winter wheat fields and prairiewhile driving
across northwestern Kansas and northeastern Colorado on highway
