Congrats to Pearle Sandstrom-Smith and Clif Smith, they are the first people to
see White-throated Swifts in Colorado during the month of January. Eight to
ten by Valco Ponds in Pueblo this afternoon. This means now White-throated
Swifts have been seen every month of the year!

This afternoon, I walked from the farthest east location that you can park off
Raynolds Ave. I think it is less of a walk from this location than from the
new MacKenzie Ave. Parking location. There were quite a few birds at the
Golden-winged Warbler location this afternoon. Great find Robb, I
I saw Yt Vireo at Rose lawn Cemetery in Blende at 1pm. Along trees by the pond
in sw side of cemetery. Blende is east of Pueblo Along Business 50.

Margie Joy and I walked the short grass where I last saw the sparrow. No luck
refinding so far.

As most of you know, Dave Silverman keeps track of record early and late dates
for migrant birds for our Pueblo Area. Some of these records go back to the
1960s. I think two record early dates were broken today for the Pueblo Area.
Pectoral Sandpiper in Crowley County and Snowy Egret in Otero
There are a lot of places in the Canon City area that the wigeon could go.
Centennial Park, Sells Pond, anywhere along the river, among other places.
Hopefully someone will find out other places it goes. It was at Valco Pond in
Canon City until at least 930am yesterday.

I got a call saying the bird isn't being seen at Boyd Lake this morning.
People should be on the lookout.

Since 8:40am the birds are coming in every 20 minutes. First flock 5 then 12
then 25. Right below the dam to the east at Pueblo Reservoir.
