Today, Feb 8, I saw the Mute Swans at the lake at the Broadmoor in Colorado
Springs, El Paso County. How do we know they are wild birds and not permanent
birds at the Broadmoor?

I saw 5 Stellar Jays in a tree in a field outside my house this afternoon.
Four of them flew to the little yard in front of my condo and hung out under
the bird bath and near the tube feeder for 15 min. or so. I've never seen that
many together let alone at this elevation.

FOY BT Hummingbird arrived at my feeder at dusk last evening, April 12.
This is the earliest I have seen one in the 15 years I have been keeping a
record of yard birds. I am in SW Colorado Springs, west of Rt. 115.

I had a fem/imm hummingbird on my feeder this morning. I think it was a
Rufous, but it could have been a BT; I'm not good at fem/imm hummingbird ID.
This is the latest I've had a hummingbird here since I've been keeping records
(2000).

I've had a beautiful lazuli bunting at my feeder this afternoon/evening.
Previously I have seen them in May at my feeder. This is my first sighting in
August.

from Colo. Springs and not really acquainted with that area. Thanks to the
