Around Noon today Rick Taylor, Bill Maynard, another birder who's name I
already forgot and I observed White Wing, Black and Surf Scoters near the
swim beach. The only open water is close to the shore so the viewing is
excellent.

Today I saw the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher in the same area as previously
reported. It was in a dead tree next to the road on the west side just
north of the parking area for the 'Hardscrabble' point of interest area.

Today there were 2 Horned Grebe at Manitou Lake. Apparently, Horned Grebe
are unusual in Teller County. They are not on the county list (
coloradocountybirding.org) and there are no sightings posted on eBird.

I went to look for the Brewster's Warbler after work today. I did not find
it but I did find the waterthrush. While I was there the light was poor and
not much was moving except a few yellow-rumps and the waterthrush.

There was a male Red-breasted Merganser in breeding plumage swimming close
to the dirt parking lot at Big Johnson reservoir today at 9:30 AM.
There were also some Horned Grebes in breeding plumage in the same area.
Further out on the water were a couple Franklin's Gulls.

This morning I found a Harris's Sparrow (Looks like '1st Winter' in
Sibleys). It was near the small pond and then flew toward the bridge.
Otherwise it was quiet. The two Chukars were there when I arrived but one

Today at 4:00 PM I saw a male Blackpoll Warbler at Sondermann Park. The bird
was a little past the second bridge (from the parking lot) near the stream.
I also saw the male American Redstart and a very yellow empid with bold
eye-rings that might be a Cordilleran Flycatcher.
