We had a female Blackburnian Warbler (#117)--good look, right outside
kitchen window in crabapple--in yard Sunday morning. There was a second
warbler in tow "could" have been the male (only had a fleeting

We heard a bird (could not find it to view) last night in yard that I
could not identify. It made repeated "ree ree ree ree"-style call

We've had five American Kestrels hanging out in our yard for past 3-4

I followed up on Mary and Tom's Nunn sighting of four swans. They
were present all weekend long and I got some long distance shots
hopefully to identify. Originally I was thinking Trumpeters but now

About your strange mammal--we've been seeing a mange Red Fox of late
perhaps this is your alien mammal? I snapped photo a month ago--she drinks
at our bird water feeder out front on occasion--and DOW reported it was a
mange Red Fox. At first I thought it was a "dingo" ... :-)

the following (competing) "diners": Bald Eagle, Turkey Vulture, two Common

We had at least 3+ Common Redpolls yesterday at our nyger feeder. They
were hanging out with our 60+ House Finch, 8-12 American Goldfinch and 200+
House Sparrow yesterday.

At times the security guards are slow to open gates at Rawhide Overlook in
the morning. If you walk up to the gate before the dam crossing entrance
you will see a telephone box with direct line to security shack on other
side of dam. You can use the phone to call security

Yesterday the Common Redpoll returned to our feeders. Also, yesterday was
"predator day" for our feeder birds--Merlin, Sharp-shinned Hawk and
American Kestrel--all looking for a "handout". Our neighborhood Lapland
Longspurs continue as well. This morning a female Downy Woodpecker--we

Hi all
I was unaware of the Little Gull when I was at Windsor Lake (10AM-ish) ...
darn ... that being said there were "zillions" of waterfowl primarily
Common (boat load), Red-breasted (3) and Hooded (2) Mergansers, Common
Goldeneyes and Ruddy Ducks on Windsor Lake. Unfortunately I was looking
Common Redpoll (#109) hanging out with our usual 30-40 House Finches and
6-10 American Goldfinches. Our winter Sharp-shinned Hawk is seen weekly
now, too, last four weeks.
