Cobirders,
Today I took a pre-Thanksgiving Dinner walk through my aunts neighborhood
south of Green Mountain and saw a Common Redpoll loosely associating
(coincidentally?) with a small group of Red-breasted Nuthatches and
Mountain Chickadees in planted pines lining the road.
The White-eyed Vireo continues haunting the juniper row and singing
frequently along the entrance road to the Wray Fish Hatchery, Yuma county.
Also a migrant Hermit Thrush and Eastern Bluebirds singing.

Took a stroll east of the footbridge at Prospect Park (along the Wheatridge
Greenbelt) and had a new infusion of migrants this morning from about 8am -
9:30am.
Most interesting was 3 male Rose-breasted Grosbeaks (near the creek rapids)
and a singing Northern Waterthrush.

One time on the road between Aspen and the Maroon Bells a male Dusky Grouse
ran towards my car on the road, jumped on the hood and stared at us through
the windshield. I opened the door to get a photo and he hopped off of the
hood, onto the ground and next thing I knew he was up on my leg
I had a quick look along CR 48 south of Lower Latham Res on the Bebee draw area
this afternoon.
Highlight was 25 Whimbrel at the far edge of the big pond south of the road.
Willets, yellowlegs, Wilsons Phalaropes, a dowitcher, some ibis and the usual
avocets and stilts were present.
Cheers,
Made a late morning visit to Prospect Park today and saw the previously
reported Northern Parula feeding high in a cottonwood about 200 meters down
the main trail (west of the bridge) from the parking lot. The bird was
trying-out some a little bit of singing which made him easier to track down
Here in Golden on this snowy morning I've heard and seen several flocks of
mainly Mountain Bluebirds flying overhead.
One massive flock of 150+ birds, which alighted in the trees across from my
yard, was mixed Mountain/Western (70/30).
The huge flock departed south, downhill, towards downtown
I just had what appeared to be a (young?) female Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
at Norman D Memorial Park in Golden (Jefferson County).
It was actively feeding around the playground area on either side of the
small creek, generally spending the last hour or so in the same area. It
was not once seen
Hello,
Saw/heard one Baird's Sparrow between 6:45 and 7:45am this morning at the
previously mentioned location along CR 5 in Northern Larimer County. Things
were very quiet by 8am along this road.

Hello,
I refound a previously seen juvenile Little Blue Heron at the Fredrick Gravel
Ponds this morning around 10am. It was hanging out on the far side of the

Hello all,
Today I had a singing male Rose-breasted Grosbeak along the Beaver Brook Trail
west of The parking lot on Lookout Mtn Rd at Windy Saddle Open Space.
Specifically, the bird was about a mile or less in, past where the Lookout Mtn
Trail splits to the left, past two talus crossings
I made a quick stop at Veterans Park in Brighton (just west of Hwy 85 on
Hwy 7/Bridge St) on my lunch hour today and spotted a male Rose-breasted
Grosbeak along the Platte River about 50 meters north of the parking lot.

Hello,
I saw that there was a report from Colorado Nat'l Monument of one
Black-chinned Sparrow from 5/2/15 on ebird and
am wondering if anybody has anymore info about it. The checklist mapped
location is outside of the park but the checklist location states it was in
the monument.
I would be
Hello,
Searching through lots of Yellow-rumped Warblers and a few Orange-crowned
Warblers today turned up a male Black-throated Gray Warbler on the west
side of Prospect Lake in Wheatridge.
Other birds of note included several Brewer's Sparrows, a few Greater Scaup
on the lake and a Gray
One Fox Sparrow (Eastern race) feeding on the seed at the Trading Post this
afternoon with the regulars.
The GC Sparrows did not make an appearance during my 20 minute or so visit.

A tad late but to add to the recent influx of Sabine's Gull reports this
week:
There was a juv Sabine's Gull on the roadside of Hwy 285 on the west side
of Grant, Park Co. on Monday the 15th.
To see one at 8,600 ft elevation in coniferous forest is not what I had
expected as I drove by...I've
Nice to see/hear some singing Ovenbirds along the hike from NCAR to Fern
Canyon today in Boulder County.
From NCAR at the end of South Boulder Road/Table Mesa follow the trail

A (continuing?) male Northern Parula was singing most of the morning 50-100
meters east of the playground at Prospect Park today, on the north side of
the creek.
Photo of the Parula posted to ebird checklist:

The White-winged Scoter was seen at 10:45am today, Monday Jan 13th in the

A quick survey of the ponds along the Platte River in Adams County today turned
