Hi, all.

We live in the Old Farm subdivision of NE Colorado Springs. A few minutes ago
we had a new bird at our suet feeder for a few minutes. After viewing the bird
and consulting both our Sibley and Nat Geo guides, we concluded it was a first
fall Baltimore Oriole. This is a first for our yard and totally unexpected.

The bird was orange overall, not yellow. It had a long tail and sharp bill –
not like a tanager bill. The wings were black with two white bars. There was no
black on the head. After in finished at our suet feeder it flew up our hill to
the east.

Really a cool sighting for Jeanne and me.

Let’s Go Birding!!
