Most days Quality not Quantity is the best for a good bird day- that is my
opinion anyhow. A very nice day to be outside. No smoke, blue skies, and in
the 70s. I will take it. Thirteen bird species captured including the
highlight of a pair of Lesser Goldfinches. Now, some may not think that is
a big deal. For a Midwesterner, I was happy to see them. Not a big volume
day but I guess spring migration is winding down. Even so, there are some
female birds that still need to migrate north like the female
Orange-crowned Warbler we caught. Just because the pretty ones are not here
doesn't mean there is not still some migration north. Plus we have the
resident birds to brighten the days. We have caught 3 Bullock's Orioles
that were at least 6 years old (3 Males and 1 Female) and 2 Bullock's
Orioles at least 3 year's old (Male and Female).
