Yeah, this one hurts a bit, but you’re right Nathan. Even a small number of 
cases of severe COVID-19 could cripple healthcare operations in that REGION. 
Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center apparently has only 92 beds and also 
acts as a nursing home as well. 

The next closest hospitals are about an hour away in any direction with the 
largest options being in Pueblo. La Junta has 6 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 
one death as of the time I’m writing this. 

I feel like I’m probably preaching to the choir here, but people should really 
consider the larger impact that a trip down there could have for themselves, as 
well as for the smaller rural communities in and around La Junta. To each their 
own. 

If it’s any consolation, Michigan had one of these ducks at a small pond near 
Ann Arbor from late spring through early Fall last year. While that is not 
likely to be the case for this small flock, a guy can dream. 

I’ll let you guys know if I find anything at Overland Pond Park here in Denver.
