Hey COBirders,

No rarities to report today from Clear Spring Ranch, but birds did arrive in a 
big way just after dawn. Waves of sparrows could be seen coming over the 
fields, and into the brush, (and my nets). I had
125 birds in bags in less than 90 minutes.

The big number was Chipping Sparrows (no surprise - when they come in, they 
come in together!) 108 banded. Also 10 Clay-colored Sparrows, 2 Brewers 
Sparrows, 
6 Lark Sparrows, 4 Savannah Sparrows, 4 Lincoln/s Sparrows, a Green-tailed 
Towhee, and only a handful of Yellow and Wilson’s warblers. Today was for 
Sparrows.
148 birds banded today. Whew.
