Does anyone have a good website for rare birds in California (up to date)? I
did searches today and found nothing but old data on sites. Any help would be
appreciated.

Very smokey here in the San Luis Valley. Is giving me and the kids a bit of a
cough. Reminds me of hazy summer days back in Mass.

I have been doing colonial nesting bird surveys and have been saddened to see
so many historic nesting areas dry as a bone. Still some good birds showing up.
Willow Flycatchers are in. Western Grebes have nested successfully at a new
location in the San Luis Valley. We saw a grebe with babies on its back
yesterday at Home Lake. Only a few Black terns.

There are still lots of Atlas blocks available in the SLV....way more than I,
and the few local birders can get to. This is an exciting place to explore and
if interested, do pick up a block or two.

Good birding all....
