Hi
We just had a female Calliope Hummingbird come to our flowering pots on our
back porch. Quite aggressive. Came right up to my nose and began buzzing around
the face looking me in the eyes. Luckily, I survived.

I looked up briefly expecting to see one of the pair of Black-chinned that
have nested in a big Maple the last 4 years and instead realized it was an
early Calliope. I did take some rather poor photos which I

My husband and I have a competition where one tries to find the first Rufous
Hummingbird of the year before the other person does. This year, we both lost.
The Calliope Hummingbird came through first. It has been coming to our
feeders this morning on the west side of Colorado Springs.
Had an unexpected spring Calliope (male) at our feeders yesterday evening.
