This afternoon a flock of about 25 White-faced Ibis swooped into the west side
of Wetlands Preserve near the Observation Kiosk.

25-35 Red-breasted Mergansers, mostly in female-type plumages but a few males
were also seen

No explosion of nifties from the north.
High lights
1imm Sabine’s Gull, still present, feeding on the water surface, adjacent to
the dam on the west side
1 ad. Lesser Black-backed Gull seen in amongst the gull flock at Pelican Point
while 12-15 Sandhill Cranes were flying south giving

Highlights from quick spin around Cherry Creek Res. at noon. Most birds seen in
northeast section of the lake.
Cackling Geese, quite a few
Brass-eyed Whistlers, (Common Goldeneyes), in large numbers, all over
Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 2 adult,
Thayer’s Gull, 1 adult, excellent views of

I visited CC Res Sunday afternoon for an hour and there were lots of
water birds, most what one would expect, the highlights included:
Red-breasted Merganser, 4 females, West side
Hooded Mergansr, mostly males West side
Common Loon east side
Herring Gulls west side
Bonaparte Gulls east
