Spurred on by a reliable, but dated, report from a Crestone birder for
Sunday 6 May of male Hooded Warbler and Am Redstart, Bayard and I made the
trek south from Crestone (Liberty Road trailhead) to the Deadman's Creek
riparian area where we dipped on the aforesaid but were instead rewarded for
our labors by a stunning male Chestnut-sided Warbler plus 30 or so species
there or on the way. Like all things in Saguache County, a bit difficult to
get to, but very worthwhile!
