ADAMS COUNTY:
--2 Trumpeter Swans were reported by Aaron Shipe at Front Range Community
College on January 25.
--A m Barrow's Goldeneye was reported by Bill Kaempfer at 88th and Platte
River on January 28.
--A Mute Swan was reported by Michael Kiessig and Chuck Aid at 89th Ave
Pond by South Platte River on February 4.  A Mute Swan was rpoerted by
Edward Donnan near 88th and Colorado Blvd on private property on N side of
88th.  This is
close to 89th Ave Pond and South Platte River.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY:
--On January 24, 3 Long-tailed Ducks were reported by Chris GIlbert, Wendy
Wibbens, and Tom Behnfield at South Platte Reservoir.  On January 27, 3
Long-tailed Ducks were reported by Doug Kibbe at South Platte Reservoir and
2 Long-tailed Ducks were reported by Norm Lewis.  On January 28, Nic Korte
reported 3 Long-tailed Ducks at South Platte Reservoir.  On January 30,
Joey Kellner and many others reported 3 Long-tailed Ducks at South Platte
Reservoir.  On January 31, Dean Shoup reported 3 Long-tailed Ducks and 1
2nd-cyc Thayer's Gull at South Platte Reservoir.  On February 1, David
Suddjian reported 3 Long-tailed Ducks, 3 1-st-cyc Thayer's Gulls and 1 1-st
cycle Glaucous Gull at South Platte Reservoir.

ARCHULETA COUNTY:
--A pair of Barrow's Goldeneyes was reported by Bennett Bailey on the San
Juan River Walk in Pagosa Springs on January 28.

BACA COUNTY:
--On January 29, Chris Gilbert reported Chichuahuan Raven and 5 Canyon
Towhees in Picture Canyon.

BENT COUNTY:
--A Greater Roadrunner was reported by Jill White Smith at Lake Hasty on
January 28.
--At John Martin Reservoir on February 4, Duane Nelson reported 1 1-st
winter Glaucous Gull, 2 Great Black-backed Gulls (1 ad, 1 1-st cyc), and 2
Lesser Black-backed Gulls.

BOULDER COUNTY:
--On January 11, David Dowell reported 1 ad Thayer's Gull and 10 Lesser
Black-backed Gulls at the Valmont Complex.  On January 21, David Dowell
reported 1 Tundra Swan, 1 ad Thayer's Gull and 3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls
(1 juv, 1 imm, 1 ad) at Valmont Complex.  On January 26, Todd Deininger
reported Tundra Swan at Valmont Complex.  On January 27, David Dowell
reported 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull at Valmont Complex.
--On January 13, Ted Floyd reported a Gray Catbird at Waneka Lake/Greenlee
Preserve in Lafayette.  On January 23, Randy Siebert reported Gray Catbird
at Waneka Lake/Greenlee Preserve.  On January 25, Ted Floyd reported Gray
Catbird at Greenlee Preserve.  On January 31, Ted Floyd reported Gray
Catbird at Waneka Lake/Greenlee Preserve.
--An ad m Yellow-bellied Sapsucker was reported by Christian Nunes at Bohn
Park in Lyons on January 31.  The bird was in pine trees in the SW corner
of the park.
--On February 1, Ted Floyd reported a Lapland Longspur at Greenlee/Waneka
complex.
--On February 1, Scott Severs reported 2 Lapland Longspurs flying over
Longmont.  On February 2, Todd Deininger heard a Lapland Longspur in
Longmont while shovelling snow.

EAGLE COUNTY:
--A m Barrow's Goldeneye was reported by Dick Filby on the Frying Pan River
between Basalt and Ruedi on January 27.

EL PASO COUNTY:
--On January 24, David Tonnessen and Tanja Britton reported PURPLE FINCH at
Fountain Creek RP.  On January 25, Adam Vesely reported PURPLE FINCH at
Fountain Creek RP.  On January 27, Gwen Moore reported PURPLE FINCH at
Fountain Creek RP.  On January 28, Mark Chavez reported PURPLE FINCH at
Fountain Creek RP.  On January 29, Lisa Edwards reported PURPLE FINCH at
Fountain Creek RP.  On January 30, Sue Riffe reported PURPLE FINCH and f
Rusty Blackbird at Fountain Creek RP.  On January 31, Jesse and Renee
Casias reported PURPLE FINCH at Fountain Creek RP.  On February 3, Bill
Maynard reported PURPLE FINCH at Fountain Creek RP.

FREMONT COUNTY:
--On January 30, Sue Riffe and Tom Behnfield reported 2 Yellow-bellied
Sapsuckers at Lakeside Cemetery in Canon City.

GARFIELD COUNTY:
--A Common Redpoll was reported by Madalynn Connor in Glenwood Springs near
Hotel Colorado on February 2.
--Art Dahl reported 150 Rosy-Finches (all 3 species) in Rifle wandering
around on February 4.  He last saw them at the intersection of East 9th St
and Morrow Drive.
--6 Trumpeter Swans were reported by Art Dahl downstream from bridge over
Battlement Mesa in Parachute on February 4.  On February 5, JoAnn Riggle
reported 6 Trumpeter Swans in Parachute.

GRAND COUNTY:
--A Varied Thrush has been visiting the yard of Cathy Craig in Granby since
late November.  Cathy is willing to allow birders to come and try to see
the thrush.  But she does not want anyone to come closer to the feeders
than the block that she will place in the driveway.  Please contact her at
PioneerCSC at aol.com for information.  On January 25, Cathy Craig reported
that the Male Varied Thrush and all 3 species of Rosy-Finches continue to
visit her feeders.  On January 28, Nic Korte reported Varied Thrush and
Gray-crowned Rosy-Finches at Yard of Cathy Craig in Granby.  On February 3,
Cathy Craig reported that the Varied Thrush and 400+ Rosy-Finches continue
to visit her feeders.  She reports that she is feeding 10 gallons of
sunflower seed/day.

JEFFERSON COUNTY:
--Ira Sanders has feeders which attract Common Redpoll and Rosy-Finches.
His address is 314 Defrance Ct, Golden.  He usually posts to CoBirds if
birds show up.  On January 30, Ira Sanders reported Common Redpoll at his
feeders. On January 31, Bob Spencer reported Common Redpoll at Defrance
Ct.  On January 31, Kiki Widjaja reported Common Redpoll, 2 Gray-crowned
Rosy-Finches, and 1 Brown Capped Rosy-Finch at feeders of Ira Sanders.  On
February 2, Tom Behnfield reported all 3 species of Rosy-Finches at feeders
of Ira Sanders.  On February 3, Ira Sanders, Chip Clouse, Doug Kibbe, and
Norm Lewis reported all 3 species of Rosy-Finches at Defrance Ct. On
February 4, Taylor Long reported Common Redpoll and 78 Gray-crowned
Rosy-Finches at Sanders residence and Scot Somershoe reported Common
Redpoll.  On February 5, Ira Sanders reported Common Redpoll and
Rosy-Finches at his feeders.  On Feberuary 6, Mary Burger and John Haycraft
reported Common Redpoll at Sanders residence.
--On December 31, Gwen Moore reported a Carolina Wren at 2695 Newland St in
Lakewood.  The Wren has been visiting the feeders in the yard for over a
month.  The owners invite you to come in the yard and go to the feeder
behind the house on the west and a suet feeder on the south side of the
house.  Please be respectful of the bird and do not try to approach too
closely.  You may park on Newland.   On January 17, Patty Echelmeyer
reported that the Carolina Wren returned to her yard after an absence of a
few days.  On January 23, Gabriel Wiltse reported Carolina Wren at Sites
Park in Wheat Ridge.  On February 3, George and Jayne James reported
Carolina Wren at 2695 Newland.
---A Winter Wren was reported by Robert Raker on the Bear Creek Greenbelt
from S. Kipling Pkwy to S Wadsworth on February 5.
--On February 6, Gloria Nikolai reported 75 Gray-crowned Rosy-Finches and 2
Brown-capped Rosy Finches at Evergree on CR 65.

LARIMER COUNTY:
--On December 11, Jeff Birek reported Yellow-throated Warbler in Fort
Collins.  The warbler is visiting the feeders in the backyard of Luke
Caldwell at 1520 W Mountain.  Caldwell welcomes birders to enter his yard
through the front and proceed along the east side.  The bird spends most of
the time visitng the feeder in the pine trees along the east fence line
near the alley.  On January 15, Forrest Luke reported Yellow-throated
Warbler at 1520 W. Mountain.  On January 30, Dave Leatherman reported
Yellow-throated Warbler at Caldwell residence at 1520 W. Mountain Ave.  On
February 2, Dave Leatherman reported that the home owners at 1502 W.
Mountain Ave saw the Yellow-throated Warbler.
--On January 1, David Wade reported AMERICAN WOODCOCK by the entrance to
parking area of Bobcat Ridge NA.
This is the same area where there was an AMERICAN WOODCOCK last year.  This
year it showed up for the Loveland CBC.  On January 30, Dave Leatherman
reported AMERICAN WOODCOCK at Bobcat Ridge.  Parking is very limited
because of mud.  On February 5, Norm Erthal reported AMERICAN WOODCOCK at
Bobcat Ridge.

LINCOLN COUNTY:
--755 Lapland Longspurs and 1 McCown's Longspur were reported by Glenn
Walbek on CR 41 near Arriba on February 3.
--On February 4, Glenn Walbek and Locoh Kilpatrick reported 550 Lapland
Longspurs, 1 Chestnut-collared Longspur and 15 McCown's Longspurs on CR 3F
near Arriba.  On February 6, Frank Farrell reported 11 Lapland Longspurs, 2
Chestnut-collared, and 1 McCown's Longspur near CR 41 and CR 3F near Arriba.

MESA COUNTY:
--14+ Barrow's Goldeneyes were reported by Leon Thurmon at Blue Heron Lake
in Connected Lakes SP on January 28.
--A Hepburn's Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch was reported by Mike Henwood at the
end of 21 Road on February 4.

MORGAN COUNTY:
--A Laplalnd Longspur was reported by Norm Lewis at Jackson Lake SP on
January 26.

OTERO COUNTY:
--On February 6, Christ Gilbert reported Greater Roadrunner, Gray-cheeked
Thrush, and Canyon Towhee at Picket Wire Canyon.

PARK COUNTY:
--On January 25, David Suddjian reported all 3 species of Rosy-Finches in
Jefferson at a house with feeders on the South side of garage with name
Schattinger & Sons then later at a house behind Jefferson Market.   He also
reported Rosy-Finches in Shawnee, 4 places in Indian Mountain area SE of
Jefferson (all 3 Species), Goshawk road  S-SE of Como, and a large flock NW
part of Fairplay.   On January 27, Hugh Kingery reported 30 Rosy-Finches
(Gray-crowned and Brown-capped) in Jefferson and about 30 Rosy-Fnches on
Elkhorn Rd.  On January 29, Chuck Hundertmark reported all 3 species of
Rosy-Finches at feeders in Jefferson.

PITKIN COUNTY:
--All three species of Rosy-Finches were reported by Dick Filby at top of
Sam's Knob at Snowmass on January 21.  He will repeat giving a bird talk
there every Thursday at 1100 for the next 4 weeks.  You will need access to
Sam's Knob by
walking or purchasing a chair lift ticket.  Contact him at dickfilby AT
hotmail.com for details.  On January 28, Dick Filby reported all 3 species
of Rosy-Finches at top of Sam's Knob at Snowmass.

PUEBLO COUNTY:
--At the South Shore Marina of Pueblo Reservoir on February 6, Brandon
Percival reported 1-st cyc Lesser Black-backed Gull and juv Thayer's Gull.
--At West Fishing Road of Pueblo Reservoir, Brandon Percival reported ad
Great Black-backed Gull flew by and Curve-billed Thrasher was running
around the parking lot on February 6.

RIO GRANDE COUNTY:
--On January 25, Virginia Simmons reported all 3 species of Rosy-Finches
visiting a farm south of the Monte Vista NWR.

WELD COUNTY:
--33 Sharp-tailed Grouse and Lapland Longspur were reported by Steve
Mlodinow and Kathy Mihm Dunning at CR99 to Wyoming on January 27.
--A Curve-billed Thrasher was reported by Steve Mlodinow at CR 84 at CR 77
on January 27.
--3 Lapland Longspurs were reported by Penny Bauer on CR 114 and CR 120
about 1/2 mile W of CR 77 on January 28.
--On February 6, Nick Komar reported 25 Sharp-tailed Grouse and 1 Lapland
Longspsur in Grover at CR 136 and CR 99.
--On February 6, Glenn Walbek reported 2 Sharp-tailed Grouse near Raymer on
CR 125.
--On February 6, Glenn Walbek reported 2 Sharp-tailed Grouse on CR 136 W of
CR 129.

YUMA COUNTY:
--On January 26, Connie Kogler reported 3 Northern Cardinals (1f, 2m) and 4
Red- bellied Woodpeckers at South Republican SWA (old Bonny SP).  The
Cardinals were in a dense hedge about a mile in on CR 3 and the Woodpeckers
by the campground.

DFO Field Trips:
The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, February 7 will be to Fort Collins area
streams and lakes led by Paul Slingsby (paslingsby AT comcast.net;
303-422-3728)  This trip is FULL.
