A friend from Nashville was in town and we went after some of his lifer targets today. We picked up at least one Ferruginous Hawk on CR 56 south of the airport. Plenty of harriers and a prairie falcon were nice. No late burrowing owls on Gun Club rd but we didn't look too hard. Lots of activity along the road tho, all expected species.
We then went to Barr Lake SP (Adams co) and found him one Clarks Grebe amongst the couple thousand western grebes. Franklin's gull was an easy pick up for him. Got all 3 of his targets. Thousands of ducks on the lake, with probably 10-12 species present. A late snowy egret, yellow-shafted flicker, 1 Lincoln's sparrow, 17 Long-billed Dowitchers, and 18 White-fronted Geese were other nice birds. Beautiful day in the field.
