       As Joe Roller mentioned both the  Red-throated Loon and the 3 
juvenile /female type Surf Scoters were visible from  either the west or east 
side 
of Cherry Creek SP until I left at 3:30 PM this  afternoon. I had quite 
good looks at the RTLO and to my eyes looked to  be closest to the juvenile 
illustration in Sibley , just a small white  area below eye , light gray back 
of neck became very dark at base , no  white speckling on back , but a dark 
throat triangle ( light was too poor to  distinguish color ) might indicate 
adult characteristics. Hopefully Glen got  some decent photos .
 
A late adult Franklin's gull was the only other bird of note.
