I spotted a rufous morph (Western) Red-tailed Hawk this morning in Canon
City and I have uploaded a photo of it on my Birds and Nature blog
<http://birdsandnature.blogspot.com/>. I also have several photos of a
Yellow-rumped Warbler that perched on a barbed wire fence with some
Mountain Bluebirds (photos of them too).

I birded Sands Lake in Salida before a meeting in that town on Friday and
as is usually the case in the fall and winter there were a good number of
common species of waterfowl. Conspicuously absent were the ever present
Great-tailed Grackles that have been resident on a small island in this
lake for some years.
