This morning, I spent a short time on the High Line Canal in Centennial
(Arapahoe). The canal was active with expected birds. The least expected
bird was a Woodhouse's Scrub Jay, which was continually visiting a juniper
not to feed on the juniper's cones (I didn't see any cones, actually) but
I had a scrub jay at one of my suet feeders yesterday! May be the first time.

From 4:45 PM until dark yesterday, 10/14, I had an adult western scrub jay
at my feeder. As common as they are in the foothills, this is only the
first I have seen in my yard in seven years here. I anxiously await evening
grosbeaks and Clark's nutcrackers.
