The two Spotted Sandpiper chicks along with their very protective parent
continue at Florence River Park. Now that they are a little older the
parent, who gives warning calls for them to stay hidden in heavy vegetation
when it is concerned, has let the chicks come out into the open to practice
their sandpiper skills along the river's edge which provided me the
opportunity to get some good pics of both chicks and the parent that I have
uploaded to my Birds and Nature blog.

Tonight as I worked in my yard I heard then briefly saw 4 Chimney Swifts
flying together. I have seen several Chimney Swifts off and on this summer
over the downtown Canon City area and wonder if these may be a family
unit. No photos, too quick and distant.
