Of interest to El Paso County birders
We saw the Winter Wrens at Fountain Creek Regional Park yesterday and today.
Yesterday's was at the beginning of the irrigation ditch, where it goes under
the path between Rice Pond and the small waterfall, near the gazebo.
Today's was past the sewage with the yellow pipe fence and 130 meters/yards
south of the covered observation station. It was first near the side channel
below the west side of the path; it came up to the trees by the path after I
tried to imitate its call (I was very surprised that it responded...)
The Swamp Sparrow was in the area of the gazebo by Rice Pond, usually when the
Harris Sparrow made an appearance.
An American Tree Sparrow was seen west of Square Pond.
