Colorado Field Ornithologists is pleased to announce that the newly updated
Colorado County Birding website is now live at:
<http://coloradocountybirding.org/> http://coloradocountybirding.org/

There have been plenty of upgrades and many great new features have been
added.

eBird Hotspots are now included under most county sites and will continue to
be added as they become available to us. BirdTrax is available on every
county and hotspot site page. On these pages, using easy to find links, you
can easily connect to eBird Seasonal Charts and to a list of Colorado Bird
Record Committee accepted reports for any county or hotspot site.

Take a look at Boulder County. It is a good example with plenty of hotspots
plus a chance to check out BirdTrax:

One of the newest features is the ability to create and print your own
checklist for any site. These checklists are stored on the County Birding
website and available for everyone to use:
<http://cobirds.org/CreateChecklist.aspx>
http://cobirds.org/CreateChecklist.aspx

Notice a bird missing from the official county checklist? Request a species
addition using the form available here:
<http://cobirds.org/RequestSpeciesAddition.aspx>
http://cobirds.org/RequestSpeciesAddition.aspx

Don't have the time to be an editor but want to suggest a site? Go to:
http://cobirds.org/SuggestASite.aspx and let us know about it.

And one of the most important new features is that the County Birding
website has been designed to render well on a Smartphone or iPad to be more
useful in the field. I would encourage you to try it on your phone or iPad
while out birding!

Take a look through the site and let us know what you think. See a problem?
On every page there is a link to contact the editor with corrections and
suggestions and we encourage you to use it.

We are also looking for folks that would be interested in becoming county
editors for the Colorado County Birding website. This is an ongoing
commitment and involves updating county and site information. If you have a
good knowledge of some (or even one!) Colorado counties and want to help
share that information, please let me know and we can get you signed up.
There are plenty of counties left to edit!

Thanks and enjoy the new site.
