? Cobirders :

????? A family group of 6 White-winged Crossbills ( 2 adult males , 2 adult 
females and?2 immatures? ) were seen around the Visitors Center on the Grand 
Mesa , Delta County . They were associating with Red Crossbills ( probably type 
5 but they did not call ) and dozens of Pine Siskins. The WWCR were 
quietly?feeding exclusively on Engelmann Spruce cones and made no contact calls 
or notes until flying off en masse.? If you are going to look for them I 
suggest that you?recognise what Englemann Spuce looks like , find a tree with 
ripened cones and wait for the crossbills to come in to feed. There appears to 
be plenty of likely trees within a 300 yard radius of the Visitors Center . 
Mine were seen about 200 yards in the direction of Ward Lake.?
