I had a first-winter (or tan-striped morph?) white-throated sparrow today in my
back yard, feeding alongside a couple of white-crowns lots of juncos, house
finches spotted towhees... dodging the scrub blue jays. Also a lone female
Cassin's finch, which hadn't been represented here since
The White-throated Sparrow continues to come to our feeder...a cute, chubby

Birders,
This A.M. we had a WT Sparrow and a Tree Sparrow at our feeder. The WTSP was
not photogenic though Tammy tried and he has not returned. Yard bird #118.

Just before dark while washing dishes, I glanced out the window at the feeders
and saw a White-throated Sparrow skulking about with some junkos. I think it a
first winter bird.
Anyone interested in this bird, please contact me privately by replying to this

An adult white-throated sparrow was working the brush piles in our
yard, N. Boulder county, this afternoon. The flock of a dozen or more
western bluebirds that have been around the last two weeks were absent
yesterday and today.
