Hi, everyone. A lucky 13 of us went birding at FCNC this morning from 7:30 to about 11:00.
Best birds seen were: 3 (at least) Virginia Rails at the foot bridge at the north end of the Visitor Center pond. 1 Winter Wren on the west side of the regional trail right at Mile Marker 18 just north of Rice’s Pond. A stop at Big Johnson revealed 2 very late American Avocets, a Common Loon, but NO Long-tailed Duck or Lapland Longspurs. Let’s Go Birding!!
