The storm last weekend brought some interesting birds to mountain counties.
On Saturday (4/14) in Mineral County, the reservoir along road FR 523 had the
following:
10 Marbled Godwits
15 Franklin’s Gulls
On Sunday evening (4/15), San Juan County had:
4 Cinnamon Teal

Today at Manitou Lake in Teller County; I had the first two American Avocets
I have ever seen in 24+ years! Always nice to get a new species for your
local lake.
FOS species for the lake also include: Violet-green Swallow, Barn Swallow
and Common Grackle.
25 species in all. Haven't seen
With my regrets, the Saturday DFO trip to Pueblo is filled.

Greetings All,
This morning at Golden Ponds (in Longmont) I had ~100 Yellow-rumped Warblers
along the stream. Amongst them was a male NORTHERN PARULA that sang
intermittently. It was hanging out with a group of Yellow-rumpeds that were
mainly Audubon's (most flocks were predominantly Myrtles)
Here since Monday evening on Lake Dillon, along Hwy 6 and bike path Huge flock
of Western Grebes along the entire section of the lake starting at the Dillon
Marina; all calling to each other and diving Also huge flock of Gulls; I gotta
go with Herring Gulls but will take correction. Just
